Regarded as one of the most beloved and influential fashion icons of the late 20th century, Carolyn’s minimalist and effortlessly elegant style has become synonymous with the famous city in which she lived: New York. This sale comprises the most comprehensive collection in known existence dedicated to her iconic style. Included are four precious and historically important items from Carolyn Bessette Kennedy’s personal wardrobe, which she gifted to her friend Rosemarie Terenzio, John F. Kennedy Jr’s assistant and confidant to the couple. Privately treasured for more than 25 years, these items were some of Carolyn’s personal favorites and are amongst her most instantly recognizable looks. This special sale also includes a private collection of authentic vintage pieces, identical to items worn by Carolyn and possibly associated with her personal wardrobe. Examples from this collection are featured in the recently released biopic ‘Love Story’, produced by Ryan Murphy, significantly contributing to one of the most accurate biographical costume portrayals in history.
