labelled, size 40, epaulettes to shoulders, in camel herinngbone wool with two deep flap pockets and two concealed slit pockets to chest, partially lined, chest 34in, 86cm, shoulders 16in, 41cm, sleeve 23in, 58cm, length 32in, 81cm

Condition

Well loved and worn. Visible signs of wear including rubbing to pile of exterior fabric creasing to inner sleeves and rubbing to exterior edge of right pocket flap. Left cuff lacking two buttons and right cuff lacking one. Partial lining to interior is frayed. Michele recalls the epaulettes on this coat being an annoyance when worn, as the button sits exactly where the shoulder strap of a handbag falls. She recalls it used to come un-buttoned when worn and she hand-stitched it in places.

Carolyn Bessette Kennedy was originally gifted this coat by Lee Radziwill. She is photographed wearing this coat on February 17th, 1997, to view click here  and again, January 22nd, 1998, to view click here
Carolyn lovingly gifted this coat to Rosemarie Terenzio during the 1990s. Rosemarie later generously gifted this a second Prada coat (Lot 2) to her friend, Michele Ammon. She thought that the camel color 'looked great with Michele's blond hair'. The two coats have been cherished and proudly remained in Michele's possession ever since. Michele fondly recalls Carolyn: 'Carolyn adored Rose, she looked out for her and was so kind with a wicked sense of humor! She used to give us advice and loved our funny dating stories. I remember the George Christmas party. Rose was dancing with John and Carolyn walked over wearing the most stunning wide-legged black pants. She looked incredible and I remember thinking: 'I have to go out and buy some pants just like those!'.
